Step 1

INK PREPARATION

A vegetable ink made by a French craftsman, or specially designed for the work in my studio.

Ashes, leaves, tree sap and fruit, the mixtures tell a story.

2nd step

DESIGN

Drawing, penciling and inking by hand of the subjects that appear in the scene.

Step 3

GLUING

A digital collage of the images making up the scene, crossing the original drawings with aerial photographs (historical iconography, archive images, CNES resources).

Step 4

TRANSLATION

In order to be transmitted to a plotter (drawing robot) , the image is translated into vector lines.

These graceful, hypnotically moving machines were prevalent in architectural firms and design offices before the advent of the consumer computer.

Gradually fallen into disuse, they now find a new life in artistic form.

Step 5

TRACER

Choosing this machine tells a story . A plotter offers total freedom in the choice of the tool with which it will be equipped to draw (brush, technical pen, charcoal, sponge, etc.).

A plotter is above all the leisure to experiment with what nature offers us (charcoal, pastel, indigo inks, paints...).

Step 6

SIGNATURE & NUMBERING

Accompanied by certificates of authenticity , the Poï-Poï creations are unique or numbered from 1 to 10 (clarification made in the description of each of the works).

Step 7

PROTECTION

Works in the format 29.7 x 42 cm :
Separated from each other by tissue paper, they are then inserted into a first kraft paper envelope.

The whole is firmly held flat thanks to two pieces of cardboard the same size as the works (3mm thick, they are pressed onto the front and back of the envelope). Everything is finally secured in a reusable packaging in thick cardboard.

Works in 42 x 59.4 cm and/or 59.4 x 84.1 cm formats :
 Protected and separated from each other with tissue paper, then secured in a thick cardboard tube.
